Help me make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities.
As some of you already know, I am organizing a charity event benefiting local area children’s hospitals through the Miracle Children’s Network.
This event was inspired by Extra Life.
Extra Life began in 2008 as a way of honoring a young girl who was a dedicated member of the video game communtiy. Her battle against acute lymphoblastic leukemia inspired the community. Members sent in video games and bought gifts to try to keep her spirits up despite numerous hospital stays and three bouts with the deadly disease. Tragically, she was lost to cancer in January of 2008.
This year I am organizing a 24-hour Video Game Marathon to raise money for the hospitals like hers that treated and fought beside her.
The money donated to the Miracle Children’s Network goes directly to your local children’s hospital. For those of us in the Twin Cities, that hospital is Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. I had the opportunity to tour the hospital and meet some of the awesome kids there. Seeing them smile despite the illness and disabilities that they struggle on a daily basis was a truly inspiring experience.
Please help us to keep them smiling.
100% of the money you raise will go directly to the Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, part of the Miracle Children’s Network. You won’t just be raising money for kids. You’ll be supporting local kids and their families. We also encourage you to take this opportunity to learn more about your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital and to meet some of the kids that we’ll be working to help.
